Headaches, neck pain and TMJ
Headaches and neck pain are commonly complained about amongst the general population.
They can be caused by many different factors, such as muscle strains, joint stiffness, poor posture, hormonal changes, chronic health conditions or psychological stressors.
There are several ways that TMD can cause headaches. The muscles of the jaw and face are connected to the muscles of the head and neck, and when these muscles are tight or strained due to TMD, it can lead to tension headaches. TMD can also cause headaches by referring pain from the jaw to other areas, such as the temples or forehead.
If you have tried treatment before without much success, then it is likely that your jaw is the culprit contributing to your pain.
